How knovatemy Came to Be

knovatemy was founded in 2018 by a small group of consultants who had spent over a decade working inside large advisory firms in Hong Kong and Singapore. What they noticed was a gap: mid-sized organisations often needed the kind of clear-headed, structural thinking that big firms offered — but without the overhead, the jargon, or the six-month timelines that came with it.

So they set up knovatemy with a simple idea — that good consulting should feel less like hiring a vendor and more like bringing in a trusted colleague who happens to have a very specific skill set. Someone who listens carefully, works methodically, and leaves behind something you can actually use.

Based in Tower 535 in Causeway Bay, we remain a deliberately small team. This is not an accident. It means every client works directly with senior consultants who carry the engagement from the first conversation to the final deliverable. There is no hand-off to junior analysts or standardised playbook. Every piece of work is shaped by the specifics of your situation.

Our focus areas — business model redesign, vendor and supplier review, and internal communication audits — are the engagements where we've found our methodology creates the most tangible impact. Rather than spreading ourselves across a wide catalogue of services, we've chosen to do a few things well.

// What Guides Us

Our Principles

Rigour Over Speed

We take the time to understand the full picture before offering recommendations. Rushing to conclusions leads to advice that looks good on paper but falls apart in practice.

Candour With Care

If something isn't working, we'll say so — but we'll say it respectfully, with context, and with a suggestion for what could work instead. Honesty without tact is just noise.

Deliverables You Use

We measure our work by whether it gets acted upon. Reports that sit in drawers are a failure, regardless of how polished they look. Everything we produce is designed for action.

A Considered Approach to Business Consulting

Operating from Causeway Bay in Hong Kong, knovatemy provides consulting engagements for organisations that have reached a point where incremental fixes are no longer enough. Our clients come to us because their business model needs rethinking, their vendor relationships have become tangled over time, or their internal communications are causing friction that slows everything down.

What sets our work apart is the depth of analysis. We don't skim the surface or rely on frameworks borrowed from textbooks. Each engagement begins with a thorough understanding of the organisation as it is — its strengths, its constraints, and its culture. From there, we develop recommendations grounded in the client's actual circumstances, documented clearly and presented with care.

Hong Kong's business environment is fast-paced and complex. Organisations here face unique challenges related to cross-border operations, regulatory shifts, and a competitive talent market. Our understanding of these dynamics allows us to offer advice that accounts for the local and regional context, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.

We believe that the best consulting relationships are built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to doing the work properly. If that sounds like the kind of partner you're looking for, we'd be glad to hear from you.
